Top 5 books of 2016

I just wanted to send out this post before the year ends. Just really quick about my favorite books I rated 5 stars ✨ this year. I rated about 40 books 5 stars this year, but these are my favorite.

All Of The Ugly and Wonderful Things By Bryn Greenwood was my most anticipated book this year. And I ended up loving it immensely. I don’t want to give anything away. It deals with some darker topics but it’s a beautiful book. It will definitely stay among my favorite books for life.

If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo is beautiful as well. It tells the story of Amanda, a transgender woman who was born Andrew. She moves to a new town to be with her dad. It’s a really great story I highly recommend to everyone looking for more diverse and own voices books.

Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow is a story which deals with darker topics as well. It seems like the books I’m reading this year deal with harsher topics. Charlie is a young woman who’s dealing with mental health problems and moves to a new town to sort her life out. I loved this book because it reminded me of my own mental health issues. Also, I really adored the character of Riley. I just wanted a good ending for him and Charlie.

The Diabolica by SJ Kincaid was amazing. Sci-fi. Future. Action. This book had it all. I couldn’t help but be entranced by Nemesis and her adventures. Not to mention, Tyrius is definitely my babe. He made the story so good! I can’t wait to read more in this series. Definitely check this out because it’s amazing!

The Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo was one of the most unexpected reads I encountered this year! Kaz and everyone else is Ketterdam definitely kept me gripped throughout these books. The first one left me breathless, and the second one made me cry a little bit. I know everyone has been reading these books like crazy, and I have to agree they are definitely worth the time and emotions you’ll place within.

And so there you have my favorite books of the year. I can’t wait to see what 2017 holds for my reading future.
